Camping Porto

OUR HISTORY

in 1950 Carlo Simoni inherited a terraced land facing the lake, originally a vineyard, and decided to turn it into a campsite.

He began to delimit the areas of the land with olive trees to create pitches able to accommodate the first European touring tourists, who came to visit the various oil mills and wine cellars of our area.

Thus began the camping port, the first camping site in Moniga and perhaps also the entire Valtenesi.

A few years later a real flow of tourists was created, and Carlo took advantage of the help of his sons Mariarosa, Giacomo and Piera in the management of the campsite, now made up of a reception, bar and some caravans.

In 1978 Carlo died and his son Giacomo took the reins of the activity, together with his wife Elisabetta and their little son Nicola.

The toilets and power supply systems were modernized, now located in the individual pitches and no longer on the lampposts.

In 1999 it was Nicola’s turn to continue with the management.

In a short time the restrooms, lake pitches and green areas of the campsite were restored and the swimming pool, mini-club and playground were built.

The fire extinguishing system was installed and mobile homes and tents were introduced inside to satisfy market demands.

Today the camping is still managed by Nicola.
